I have written about this neglected corner of my living room before.
Eventually, I decided that some sort of bookcase or shelving was needed.
After much deliberation, and stomping about when Himself declared that our walls would not be suitable for my first choice, I
was forced settled on having a book case.
I decided that I wanted a pine one and would upcycle it with Annie Sloan’s assistance.
I scoured Ebay and dabbled with a few bids.
Eventually, I won this little beauty and was thrilled.
I invested in a pot of Annie Sloan’s Old White Chalk paint and set to work.
I decided that I didn’t particularly want a paint effect, I was not really looking for shabby chic.
Therefore, I am not sure that the Annie Sloan paint was entirely necessary and, the £18.99 brush was definitely not.
What can I say, I am a marketer’s dream.
As I suspected, I should have had more confidence, a small foam roller was better for the solid look that I was after.
I am delighted with the result.
The only problem now is that I cannot stop faffing and changing things around.
However, it has certainly helped to bring the room together.
Have a lovely day!
